hmm, I always thought it was because they wanted to look like an orange. To help accentuate the orange, they bleach the hair to blonde.
Oh, wait! Maybe they want to look like a creamsicle!!
OR, maybe or they are jealous, of them spotted creatures with skin cancer, and want it oh-so badly.
