Believe it or not there really are still people who believe the earth is flat. There is even a Flat Earth Society, no joke. If there is any evidence that stupidity is on the rise this is just a small portion of it.
Did you know that even to this day that one adult american in five believes that the sun REVOLVES around the earth?
I will take it even a step further...
When asked what makes the day bright, many will say the sun. When asked what the sun is the answer's may vary but only a few will give the correct answer. The sun is a star.
Ever heard people say, look a shooting star. People really believe they are seeing a falling star when in fact it is merely space junk or meteortites burning up in our atmosphere. Stars do not fall.
If anyone has seen the movie "Idiocracy", while not a great movie in itself, it makes a very powerful point on the direction our society is headed.
