I would actually prefer to see a national sales tax which I think is more equal and fair to everyone.
Those with the most discretionary income would contribute in direct proportion with what they earn.
Then the only problem would be to set the % and determine how best to allocate the tax money collected. That's where it will all fall apart... when you get the government involved
