I disagree,it's like anything that a person enjoys. I have many friends that are into boating. They started with something small and over the years evolved to what they were able to afford. Cars are no different. I started with a triumph TR6 many years ago and today I have a number of different cars that aren't logical. It's less a badge of success than it is fun.
I never park mine in the front yard or take it to starbucks. I get up early in the morning and drive the hell out of it on quiet country roads.
