This is bang on! I have been in the SEO business for many years and it is very possible to achieve just about any ranking for just about any website for a short duration of time.

If you really want to have fun with this deal give them a new domain and cloak it. Then 301 the google bot to another one of your newly acquired domains with a few good anchored outbound links. They will dump a shit load of link juice on the domain you gave them but it will never move. With any luck they will just keep turning up the link juice to try and get movement.

BEWARE: Turn off google caching or your mischievous ways will be exposed in a cached session. They might be a little pissed
