My staff would laugh at me because of my routine. I would walk behind the bar, play with bottles, then go to the dj booth and talk to him, then hug the the door guys, I was like a dog pissing on every tree.

Of course I was just doing this so there was no doubt to the young girls that were drinking that this was my domain.

For my experience the owner get first choice, then the promoters, next the dj, only if he is a good dj, then the bartenders and door staff. After that you have the bar backs, kitchen staff, and friends of the owner fighting for the scraps.
