All I've heard about Rolls has been that he was the best.

We can thank him for the cross training, and the mindset of modern BJJ, taking whats' useful, and integrating. The Americana, the Triangulo, all under Roll's and his teachings. Rolls was the first cross trainer in BJJ. I agree, he died too soon.
Watching this video, you can see the wrestling that Rolls integrated, with his training with Bob Anderson. The great thing about BJJ, is that the spirit hasn't died, guys like Eddie Bravo, Marcelo Garcia, De La Riva, they are still evolving BJJ.

Carlos Gracie Jr and Rigan Rachado Gave me the stories and insight on Rolls Gracie. I learned it from family. I saw rare Video footage of the guy.
You do know about BJJ, because Black belts that got them closest from the original source (because when you train day in and day out with Gracie family, the stories come out), or very serious BJJ fans that research BJJ history, know about Rolls Gracie.
Good stuff, much respect dude!!

There are a few of us here who train and love BJJ. Dig420 got me involved, and we both trained at the Gracie Academy in Torrance. I think Dig is training with Jeff Glover now. I train at American Top Team, we are both blues. The Senator is a Purple, and I know we have a Brown Belt on here as well.
We have to meet Dave! I'd love to hear some of the stories you could tell.
