That's one finding in an interesting but nonscientific new survey of 3,437 U.S. military officers with impressive demographics, released this week by the liberal Foreign Policy Magazine and the Center for a New American Security.

On a 1-10 scale of confidence with 10 being the most confidence, the officers ranked the presidency at 5.5 (16 percent reported no confidence "at all" in the White House). The Pentagon was rated at 5.6, Congress at 2.7.
