it doesn't have to be official, it doesn't have to include a lot of "big boys", it doesn't have to change the face of this industry - it just has to be a community that benefits it's members - that's all.
the problem is the high hopes everyone has for a kind of group like this.
this "group" shouldn't be responsible for fighting stolen content or anything like that...it should be some kind of quiet clique, a group of adult webmasters that includes content providers, content site owners, designers, programmers, affiliates etc. that are all business men that are doing better business with each other to make more money than they would if they were alone.
the group will inform each other of cheating traffic traders, webmasters that you shouldn't do business with, list of sites to banish, list of sites that provide good webmaster resources, the group will enjoy special design or program deals for group members...those kind of things.
basically networking with benefits, in order to join you need to provide a needed service to the group, and if you fuck someone in the group - you get banned and can never enjoy all of the above.
why can't we do that ? something in those guidelines
