I spent like 6-7 years in Huntington Beach (on and off) and I hated it. I just really hate it. I don't know if it's because I had bad high school years there but I just hate it. After that I lived around Newport/Costa Mesa, the only thing I liked about that area was the beach and that was about it. Now I live in the South Coast Metro area, maybe 2 min away from South Coast Plaza. I live in a decent place (I pay almost 2k for 1 bedroom) and it's not ghetto, we have concierge here and free pilates/spinning classes, there are lots of yuppies in my building. There was an article in the OC register about the place I live in, they are doing a 50 million dollar renovation and it's going to be one of the more upscale places in OC because they are going head to head and competing against the Irvine Company.
I can't move to LA because I don't know anyone there and I'm afraid to move somewhere by myself where I don't know anyone.
