Bausch, you're a somewhat strange person. Holland isn't isolated, it's just a different country with different needs, a different market (hence the lack of "MAC"), a different culture.
In fact, I bet people in LA, NYC or London are more isolated than they are in what you call "the boonies". People who are always going somewhere are isolated, take that as a rule of thumb.
