Actually I was watching a documentary on walmart that did say something along those lines.
Walmart actually has pamphlets and things that they give to their employees explaining how to get government assistance.
Maybe the correct statistic is that 50% of their employees receive government assistance. That could be medicaid, food stamps, wic, etc.
Still, that's quite a statistic considering they're the nation's largest employer.
