Thanks for the wiki reference which anyone is allowed to alter or change. Yes that is one definition of tea and the absolute number 1 version of it. However if you bother to check a dictionary:

Any of various beverages, made as by steeping the leaves of certain plants or by extracting an infusion especially from beef.

Any of various plants having leaves used to make a tea like beverage.

At the same time one can make a fertilizer tea such as a worm castings tea or a compost tea, neither of which uses leaves from the tea bush yet are correctly used in the form of context and word choice. So one again its semantics.
