It is one of the ironies of war that cities, towns, villages are prepped with mortar, artillary, gunships, and fighter bombers, or sometimes heavy bombers, wounding, maiming, and killing all life, before troops enter the scene, but if an individual soldier takes the life of an unarmed person he is in jeapordy of being punished. The real facts are that no unit, big or small take prisoners unless they are ordered to do so and this order depends upon the circumstances. This applies less to larger units than it does for small units.
