Here's the thing, and if it's not true for him, it'd be true for his peers.
This guy probably had friends die fighting wars to uphold freedom and levels of lifestyle for generations. I can only imagine he'd be somewhat insulted to see this type of thing as his form of repayment.
Or maybe he was just frustrated she wasn't pissing on his face.
