 That sucks 

 We used to spend every weekend either in the river or at the beach. We had crab traps off our dock and the shrimp would run 2 times a year and we'd go shrimping off the docks too. 
We moved there in 73 and they were just finished "cleaning up" the river. I guess they just let it go to shit again. A shame - it's a wonderfully massive river. We lived in San Jose and my bf lived in Ortega - it was actually faster - and more fun - for him to come and get me by boat than having to drive to Buckman, then back down, then back to the Buckman. 
My HS was on the river and of course, we had a crew team, lol.
My mother moved to a retirement community an hour from JAX, but with no river - or beach. I don't want to retire somewhere that's not on the water
