it all comes down to convenience. ATMs make a lot of money for a reason and its become the norm in society to pay a few dollars to withdrawl cash.
only thing i hate is when im out of town and there are no BofA's around...i have to pay the surcharge plus another $1 or $2 on top of that for using a non BofA ATM. however, i since i switched my account over a few months ago, i havent really gone to the ATM that much so im not sure if im still being charged this or not.
but its FREE to get cash back at stores and other places so take advantage of that. if you need to withdraw $20 stop at the store and by a $.50 pack of gum and get cash back... you will have minty fresh breath and $20 cash
