Dragging ass on the AMD (like one minute=1h30m) so i got a p4 2.53, a gig of rambus, and that has only improved performance slightly.

I would draw the conclusion that cleaner doesnt like encoding from mpeg2 as a source, but one wizard setting jams at 1m=1m30s, while the second setting takes 60 times longer, seems to process 5-6 frames then sit for 30 seconds.

anyone been down this road before?
I don't really know much about video, but am learning. I was encoding 20 second MPEG 1 from the raw .avi files and it took a couple of minutes on a Celeron 700.

I wonder if you cut up your .avi's into smaller clips and encoded them directly to .wmv if it would be faster? Maybe mpeg2 to wmv is slower then .avi to wmv.
