For those of you too young or not even born before 1980 go learn about Jimmy Carter. he was the "change" candidate in 1976. Was a really nice likable guy. Overwhelmed by the office and received no support from Congress even from his own party. Lost very badly in 1980 ot Reagan. Would have lost the democratic nomination in 1980 to Ted Kennedy if not for a thing called Chappaquiddick back in 1969.

Go back a few more years and look up Kennedy. This country is so fucked up now, people are looking for a huge change.
You seem to forget that the only reason nothing is getting done now is that Bush is using his veto power to fuck up anything good that comes along and there aren't enough dems to overide the veto.
Turn that around with a Dem pres who won't veto. Repubs are up shit creek and will have to work together again. Remember just 2 years ago when the repubs were full of themselves and were throwing around the nuclear option and getting rid of the filibuster?
