No obviously not.

I was able to induce near mass hysteria on a plane once though. Two of my good buddies are petrified of flying an I was sitting between them. So during take off and what not I was making my normal comments like "Wow, that's a strange sound never heard that." or "Wow is that wing supposed to bend and flap around like that?" or "Man I just a bird go in to that engine, isn't that dangerous?".

Anyway, I had them fairly worked up, but unbeknownst to me, the man right behind me was deathly afraid of flying, hadn't been on an airplane since an engine went out on a flight he was on during take off and it plummeted like 100 feet down before the other engines were able to compensate. Apparently he thought he was going to die, and didn't fly after that incident for some 10+ years until he was forced to travel coast to coast in the USA because his father was in the hospital dying and ground transportation would take too long.

Anyway, this guy behind me heard everything I was saying, and picked up ont he nervous vibe from my two friends, which increased his nervous state into near panic. Soon he was seeing and hearing the same sorts of problems I was making up. His panic spread through a few rows and by 10 minutes in to the flight like 6 or 7 rows of passengers were all hearing and seeing the same problems I was simply making up.

Flight attendants ended up giving out a ton of free booze to calm all these people down. A couple of them basically couldn't be calmed and were SURE we were going to crash.

Man was I proud after.
