Wrong!!!
The artist owns the sole rights to duplicate/license any of their music, and even things such as the ESPN six note Sports Center lead in, the NBC 3-note xylophone station ID, and Apple and Microsoft single notes that play when their OS's start are all copyright protected (Trivia: Brian Eno created the Windows 95 start-up ambient sound on a Mac).
