24+ dislocations and sublexations between ages 17 and 25, mainly from football, but the odd fight and "party trick" thrown in.
Arthroscopic reconstruction followed by 11 weeks of intense rehab and I was back on the field.
15 years later still going strong, although (and for those that know me they will be surprised), not as strong as I was once was.
SOOO important that you start the "retard rehab" ASAP after surgery - day 3 for me back then - as the little stuff that sucks and seems pointless makes the difference between 3 months and 6-12 months full recovery.
I started in the mornings at the physiotherapist and gym for a couple of hours, then off to the acupuncturist, then to the pool for an hour then to the massage table... EVERY day, 7 days a week for 11 weeks, slowly increasing and adding and enhancing.
Hard work, but worth it.
