What might be happening is your link is falling off of the "NEW" lists on various places that link to you, and your link is getting buried.
You need to get some solid link trades with other blogs, keep submitting your link to various places, and possibly do some social bookmarking. And of course the myriad of other ways to generate traffic that I'm not going to go into.
Most of all though is age. Your blog will get better in time and all you can do is keep posting and wait.

Yes of course I noticed a surge in traffic once I submitted and understand that it drops off as I move down the list, but that is referral traffic which I am not too bothered about. Its search egine traffic which seems to have dropped
