I use my newsletter cgi-script. It is unfortunately written in German (
http://www.coder-world.de/) but I know there are other free scripts out there in English. I have about 15.000 addresses in there, it works great. No need to import, addresses can be copy/pasted in the address list of the control panel. Mail can be sent out as html or text, with attachments.
