Right now I'm trying to buy a lot next to one I own. It's my lot, then their lot, then the phone company owns the next lot. So if I could buy the middle lot, someone could straddle the property line of the two lots and have an acre of land with no chance of someone building next to them (mine is a corner lot). But it's owned by a church someone donated it to and since they don't have to pay taxes on it, apparently they are in no hurry to sell property that's basically free for them.
I was just looking at the view from the lot next to mine in the winter - it's awesome. I'll sell it when I sell my house as I don't want anyone living next to me
