I don't think Alexa means all that much. I have a site in the top 30,000 on Alexa, and my ranking has been gradually falling while traffic is actually increasing. I think it is due to a lot of new high traffic sites appearing in Alexa which pushes the ranking of the older sites down, when they are actually holding the same traffic they always have.
