There should be a rigid separation. Religion has no place in government as far as I'm concerned. You wanna worship the lord? fine.. do it in your home or church. the government isn't your house of worship nor should you get a constitutional amendment making it as such.
Only someone who wants to push religion into government would even consider trying.
