I obliged and he did a pretty slick and pretty quick disarm technique. When I asked to start again but this time I just took 2 steps backwards in to a modified weaver stance before pretending to point my fake gun, he just stood there staring at me. Nothing he could do, and he knew it.
Personally, I would look in to some Judo. It's loaded with tradition and it's a really usable, effecient art. If you can throw somebody hard, it takes all the fight out of them right on the spot nine times out of ten.
Just my two cents.

I'm black belt Judo and have done a decent amount of Jiu Jitsu... I know
it's not all very realistic.....IF your oponent knows what's about to happen
but usually they don't a big part of the effectiviness seems like the suprise
effect as a guy with a weapon usually doesn't expect his target to make
a move for it.....
Another part what attracts me is the training of natural responses and
reflexes which Krav greatly depends on unlike most other forms of martial
defense arts. I'm not going to try it with the idea to become unbeatable
or some badass street fighter.....but I get what you're saying
