Will76 you've made a lot of posts I agree with, but this statement is clearly factually wrong.

TGPS have more content then news groups. <---

Completely and totally false.

Giganews for example offers I think 200+ day retention on anything uploaded to the newsgroups. We're talking petabytes of data, in all genres. Only thing that keeps them legally viable is that the client side has to "unchunk" the pieces, and the pieces are never put together on their servers.. So they just claim they have petabytes of random useless data basically. Without the client software to put the pieces back together, it IS useless data.

I was talking to DDF Productions a few months ago (1by-day, hotlegsandfeet etc) and showed them roughly 60gb of their videos, downloaded and packed up into DVD format ready to be downloaded on the newsgroups. That's a drop in the bucket to what's on there. I'd hazard to say the newsgroups probably have at least 25-50 TIMES what piratebay and those torrent sites have indexed.

Only difference is no web front end really. All this piracy beef is brought up because of how easy it is for the dummy surfer to get stuff now, they only care that what was once back room is now on display in the windows.
