I think you're overestimating the number of computer users savvy enough to use newsgroups. Most surfers are dumbshits who barely know how to access folders on their C drive -- or that they even have one -- much less, acquire, set up and operate a news reader. It's not like going to a tube site and clicking a 320 by 240 box.
