I got a macbook not long ago and switched to the new imac this week. Still trying to get used to this thing. So far I have several complaints.
1. Mightymouse and keyboard SUCK SHIT. I am used to a Logitech G9 mouse and a G15 keyboard. I know I can use them on this machine but I wanted to try the dafault setup to see what all the hype is about.
2. No good FTP client. I have tried transmit, cyberduck, yummy ftp and none of them even come close to flashfxp for windows. I need to change transfer modes and permissions a LOT when I FTP and these options are always relatively difficult to access compared to flashfxp.
3. No real blogging client. Ecto is the best mac has to offer. It can't even get close to the new windows live writer.
4. Oddball behavior when using cmd+tab to switch between apps. It doesn't work anything like windows alt+tab works. I finally learned that if I "minimize" a window using cmd+h then it can be maximized using cmd+tab like windows.
Now on to the things that I DO like:
Quicksilver - Sweet Jesus I love this thing. There is nothing like it on PC.
Coda - Great for guys who code like I do. Sometimes I download a file, make a few edits to the code and upload it again or run a script via the shell to do a task. This makes it all possible from one application.
VMWare Fusion - Uses a boot camp partition and lets you run win apps in os x. This works surprisingly well. I was shocked how well it worked. This saved me a couple thousand bucks. I have a license for Adobe CS3 for Windows but not for mac. Without this I would have had to purchase CS3 for my mac.
