Hi Rick,

Thank you for taking the time to post. I'm happy to address everything you mentioned as I think that you're quite a bit off base with most of your post.

Starting with your "Brad I don't see How MojoHost has anything to bragg about" comment......

We're not posting for bragging rights. I didn't come here to say that we are the largest host as clearly we are not. I made an educated post that you could probably learn some things from if you actually took the time to read through it and ask questions about those things you don't understand.

Second, the sources you queried to find out the networks that we are connected to aren't entirely accurate. They aren't correct/complete for us and I know they aren't correct for NationalNet either. They don't show any of the direct peer relationships that we have (a dozen or so) and they don't reflect one of the other carriers that we connect to, Hurricane.

If you had actually read my post I've already spoken to Cogent connection in advance and in anticipation of a comment like you are making. We have a 1G connection to Cogent and route 200 megabit of absolutely best routes over it and as stated earlier we don't burst on that link. To suggest that we're not making the best use of that link and that with as well connected as Cogent is today (versus years ago) is simply uneducated.

I'm not "one of those folks" talking about how my network is superior to the rest although to be quite honest I don't believe there is an argument that can be made that it's not among the finest infrastructures in place. Quantitatively, we do not have the largest network in terms of total network connectivity. This isn't a discussion about quantity though, it's one about quality, and we do a superb job with what we have in place. Out of our 34 gigabit of connectivity we're only utilizing around 15% of our capacity, even less when we do our next 10G carrier upgrade.

With regard to "Everyone knows where the biggest affiliate programs today are hosted and I guess for a good reason." well can I assume that you just came in here pick a fight? I have news for you, there isn't an adult host in this marketplace that hasn't lost business to MojoHost over the last year - large, medium and smaller clients. But again, this isn't a post about who is the largest. You're completely missing the point of this thread.

With regard to NationalNet and ISPrime they are well respected competitors and I believe if you were to speak with them and ask their views on my company you would hear the same in return. NationalNet, for example, arrived to market long before I did with our company and as I have said many times over we admire the good work that they do just as we respect ISPrime for being a formidable competitor.

With regard to your comment on 'Seabone' well that's actually Telecom Italia Sparkle, the Italian equivalent of ATT. So when they extended their network to the states and down to Latin America they have done an excellent job building their infrastructure and from the metrics I have access to have clearly succeeded. They have excellent peer relationships both in Europe and stateside which have enormous value. So again, there is your perception and the reality of how I know them as a carrier. And they are not inexpensive, to boot.

I think that you have the right idea but honestly not the experience on how to evaluate a network infrastructure. Clearly, you're off to a good start but the devil with network infrastructures is always in the details. How routing decisions are made and how the edge network configurations are done is very important and that's not something that most hosts make disclosures about although we are more than happy to.

Cheers,

Brad
