I am proud to be an American. Ours is a great country.
I don't put much stock in the people criticizing our President --on GFY most are foreigners, and stateside most are people with partisan objectives.
In the case of US politicians and people who use the war as a wedge issue to get Dems elected at the expense of our troops and our national security, I don't think it's unfair to call them traitors.
Frankly, the countries where I would be afraid to identify my nationality are places where I simply would not travel. I am amazed at the risky places Americans go. If the state department says it is very risky, I absolutely wouldn't go. Any deemed moderately risky, I STILL wouldn't go.
Canada, UK, Bermuda, Australia, New Zealand, Germany, Portugal, Iceland, Denmark, Finland, Sweden, Norway, and maybe a handful of other countries --those places I wouldn't hesitate. France and Greece, maybe.
All other countries I would at least research further before travelling.
Places I probably wouldn't go: Spain, Mexico, Russia, Jamaica, etc..
Venezuela? No fucking way.
