Unfortunatly the govenment there controls immigration tighter than a virgins asshole and any unwelcomed guests get to live in those nice detainment camps to keep them isolated from the population. (Hell, we don't even have decent fences on our borders.)
Maybe that's why it's so happy-go-lucky. That, plus a zillion miles of ocean to help it stay isolated; plus friendly people and a non-agreesive government... hmmm.
Shit. How do I get in?

Detainment camps are only for brown people that don't speak english don't you know... If you're white and from an affluent country you should have no problem unless you're unemployed.. it's easier to immigrate here than it is for me to go over there... especially if you're bringing American dollars and business over here.
That said we are the second most multicultural country in the world after Israel.
Actually our government is aggressive at the moment with the Iraq thing, but thats because we always follow the US. Otherwise we're pretty benign and yes, isolated.. although not entertainment wise or anything you just have to wait an extra few months for your hollywood releases (because of zoning so the companies make more money) and you don't get every band coming over even though a lot do, im going to see Ben Harper, Jeff Johnson, Ben Folds (although he's moved here now - he lives in SA) and Beck next month.
