You should have resolved it then no way you payed anyone to pack it like that and if it was insured it should have been taken care of. And no we wouldn't wait too long to let you know, we let you know as soon as we got it. Fedex wouldn't even insure something packed like that.
You may or may not be a stronger company either way you personally handled it unprofessionally.
