Good post and lot's to learn here so I think I'll pitch in and answer too. I'm a mainstream site/community owner with well over 160k+ "active" members. My first community (a niche gaming site) started 4 years ago and grew to 110+ members. The second (outdoor sites) was more of a fun project that grew, but I was never to too serious about tell now. It just broke the 50k member and 200k uniques a month so it's time to get serious.

1. Mainstream has 100 times as many working for beer money that adult.

True. Most have never made porn "type" money to get serious.

2. Mainstream 'webmasters' are willing to sell off their sites at ridiculously low prices. Clone, rename, and do it again for $25

I have seen many great potential sites, sites, and concepts abandoned.

3. Mainstream people, the vast majority, do not seem to have a fucking clue what a domain, or website are worth.

True. But then there are a small few who think they are the next facebook.

4. Few mainstream people work online as their full time job.

True, very true. They don't know how to make money.

5. There are just as many retards asshats in mainstream, but the difference is their board rule with an iron fist.

It is usually because they are just an average person in the real world and got lucky with a site.

6. A large chunk of mainstream hang on every word of shoebitch as if he is all knowing.

7. There are just as many ass eaters, and supposed online celebrities in mainstream as the Lars of adult.

Most are self imposed.

8. Fraud, rips offs, scams are even more ridiculous, and frequent on mainstream. Yes, that is really sad.

A fool and his money are soon parted. Lot's of fools in mainstream.

9. People in mainstream do not seem to be able to know how to gauge traffic, SE index, or value of listings.

A majority can't even figure out how to use an admin panel let alone marketing. To be honest, many don't need the traffic or knowledge. I know a guy that owns a huge outdoor site and when I visiting I watched him (20x) type his domain name in Google to get to his site.

10. A lot of mainstream do not seem to have a fucking clue about domains, SEO, or how type in's work. Nor what is truly considered traffic, or what 'conversions' mean w/o shady tactics.

Yes. I have said this before many times on here and will say it again. If you make between $1000k-$5000k a month in porn you can make 10x that in a "niche" mainstream.
