As I was trying to calculate once, to get the license to publish one DVD with licensed music would cost a fortune, I don't want to bullshit you but I guess it was around 6 EUR / 10 seconds so say 6 k USD for 90 minutes, speaking about DVD rights only, not TV.
That's where I found out why in so many porn movies is such a horrible music in the background, now we don't play anything in the background when there is hardcore action - it has a better raw feel.

Yes, and those prices could range much higher, to obtain full rights. Some composers would not want an association with porn, others might tolerate it for a higher payment. Reams of legal work and so much money.
There are some more modern sounding libraries now, that I find useful, but nothing would be cooler than to use all the original songs and artists.
