Pro, human trafficking is also big business in the US and most of Europe. I'd be inclined to say that together, they make up the top 5 in the worst offender list.
Also, Dubai did (at least when I lived there for several years) have a huge prostitution thing going but most of the women were from Russia, various parts of the Former Eastern Bloc and other smaller, developing European countries.
Just because there is crack on the streets doesn't make your government any more inclined to allow you the freedom to produce or sell narcotics so why should a place like Dubai (or other Arabian Gulf countries) make allowances for porn downloads simply because they have an illegal prostitution racket problem?
Fletch, Dubai has different laws for expatriates and different laws for Muslims with regards to alcohol. Expatriates who are there on a work permit can apply for a ration card (pretty similar to the US military) that allows them to purchase a specified amount of alcohol per month based on their income from alcohol stores. Expatriates are also free to drink as much as they please at bars that can be found in just about every hotel in Dubai.
Muslims on the other hand cannot get a ration card at all but are allowed to drink as much as they like in hotel bars, just like expatriates.
PR_Don, you have some serious issues if your spare time finds you exploring the sexual urges or the release of them of arabs in Dubai.
