Yes. If there was spy planes flying ove rthe US do we not have a right to shoot them down? yes. If we are sending spy planes over someone else's country they have every right to shoot ours down.

I know it wasn't a state then ninny. I'm more well versed in US history than you. It became a state in 1959 in case your interested. Hawaii was a US territory then as was Guam and as was the Phillipines( which we won in the Spanish/American War by the way) Puerto Rico isn't a state but, if it was attacked by a foreign nation you damned well know we would retaliate. why? because it's a US territory.
The US Army didn't mind defending New Mexico before 1912 when it became a state.
