to each their own. but in my eyes to let someone walk on you and in turn show them any form of compassion is foolhardy. the only reason someone would hold the better man opinion is out of self-righteous egoism. just because you feel the better man for looking away does not make you the better man. the better man to me will stand his ground, knows his enemies, and shows no mercy to those who cross him with hostility.
i'm not saying there's no room in life to forgive error. forgiveness IS something a good man holds the capacity for. but to stand down and act as though a direct violation of your self or property is not an issue, is nothing more than weakness.
