I enjoy reading non-fiction more than fiction, however, here are some of my favorites in no particular order:
Johnny Got His Gun by Dalton Trumbo
The Jungle by Upton Sinclair
The Naked and the Dead by Norman Mailer
The World According to Garp by John Irving
Hawaii by James Michener
Lost Horizon by James Hilton
Cannery Row by John Steinbeck
The Naked Lunch by William S. Burroughs
The Sheltering Sky by Paul Bowles
Sometimes A Great Notion by Ken Kesey
On the Road by Jack Kerouac
Steppenwolf by Herman Hesse (also Siddhartha)
No Exit by Jean-Paul Sarte
There are many, many more...
I regret that I don't read complete novels as much as I did when I was younger, however I am still a voracious reader - I just do most of my reading online, and prefer shorter essays and articles these days.
