I need to buy some new stuff asap for tax write offs before the end of the year...

Question #1 Is the DELL Vostro 1500 one

fast enough to do basic stuff? Are the features fast enough for today's
standard lap top, is it considered average or above in terms of what's out there on the market today? I don't keep up with what's out there today so I don't know if these specs are up to par, is it considered average, better than average or what...

These are the specs

Intel® CoreTM 2 Duo Processor, Genuine Windows Vista® Home Basic or Genuine Windows® XP Home, 2GB Memory, 120GB Hard Drive, CD/DVD Burner

What's a better deal, the Vostro 1500 or LatitudeTM D520
D520 with 512MB Memory & 80GB Hard Drive??

Question #2, What about these desktops, which one is better?

Inspiron 531
Includes 2GB Memory AMD Athlon? 64 X2 Dual-Core 5000+

or is this better?

Inspirion 530 Intel® Core?2 Duo Processor E4500 (2MB L2 Cache,2.20GHz,800 FSB)

Are both those pc's considered standard compared to other stuff that's out on the market today? Do they have enough power or are they lacking??
