It's more like there are in general always HUGE profits in pharmacy and healthcare.. but nowhere in the world that huge as in US..
The logic behind it is simple - if you would ever choose five times cheaper solution if the cheaper one is 95 pct. succesfull and the super expensive one 96 pct. succesfull, will you be able to justify that?
Also many medicaments are in fact duplicated classic meds just different name and package and price 200 - 500 pct. up.
