I wonder if most people realize that saying someone has a pretty face is an insult.
It's like because someone weighs more than you think is acceptable you can't say "they're pretty" you have to qualify it.
Either say they're pretty, or say nothing at all. (unless your intent is to insult them, in which case there are much better insults available to you)
