mn, we would notice it as well, we monitor all servers for ping 24x7.

we are on-site 24x7, so your server would be backup within my estimate of 2 hours. the tech would investigate, get a new HDD, put it in, install OS then install your control panel if there is one or begin re-installing your web software.

he would then copy over your backups and restore httpd.conf, php.ini and replace your data. this would be if you are managed.

If you are not, then he would get the machine backup and make your backups available to you from the SAN or put them on your server for you to restore them.

Normally the longest amount of time will be spent replacing the hardware, and installing a control panel if there is one, the OS install is normally done within 10 minutes or so (unless its Windows).
