Steer clear of blind traffic if it`s for a tour/membership based site.
Clicked traffic can work but try and focus on strong targeting. Banner spots can be costly when you measure the # of clicks in relation to the real costs on a 30 day banner spot for example.
A better value option can be descriptive textlinks.
Also an option which can still work very well is gallery traffic (but often lots of testing).
Just as important as the different traffic delivery methods is country targeting (U.S, UK and Canada are premium countries obviously). Other Western European countries are also key but try and focus on mainly English speaking nations.
If the advertising is for a free type site (feeding or branding a site for example) then some different options can be used.
