I always get a laugh out of this idea. For the most part, if you were going to share files with friends, you would just send them the file, or upload it somewhere for them to watch. P2P is a very high overhead protocol when moving a file from A to B. Use FTP, email, almost anything else is more effecient.
Jaysin, how many linux distros does the average guy download to say "I am having problems connecting to P2P?" and how many independant artist songs would they have to download to be concerned about certain network outages that can slow downloads?
The person filing the suit would have to be a power user, using P2P often enough and long enough to (a) notice a dropoff in speed, and (b) have enough experience to know that this is not a normal dropoff.
You don't think he will get a little knock on the door one of these days?
