Pour a half cup or so of ammonia down any open holes and then try to seal up them up so the fumes are trapped in there. Even if it doesn't kill it, it will drive them away from your yard.

That works better than any poison I ever tried but make sure you don't have any pets that can get to the area until the fumes have a chance to somewhat dissipate.
