Tomorrow is the launch of the .ASIA Sunrise Periods for registered marks (general (SR2B) and extended protection(SR2C)) and entity names (SR3). From November 13, 2007 to January 15, 2008 is your window to apply for .ASIA domains that qualify in these categories:
General registered marks
Includes registered trademarks which have been applied for before December 6, 2006. Note there is no requirement for demonstrable usage as there was for Sunrise 2a.
Extended protection registered marks
Includes domain names for registered trademarks that may be combined with additional words or phrases that appear in the class title, subtitles or descriptions for which the registered mark is registered (based on the NICE classification system). For example, if the company “ACME” is trademarked in NICE Class 16: Paper, it can apply for “ACMEPaper.ASIA,” “ACMEcardboard.ASIA,” “ACMECalendars.ASIA” etc.
Registered entity names
Allows applications for domain names that correspond with the registered entity name of companies, societies or other organizations in the DotAsia community (the juristic entity name must have been registered on or before December 6, 2006).
