What are you insinuating?!?
Just because AFFs ads repeatedly show up on sites with illegal and stolen content, doesn't mean that they are any more responsible/culpable than the poor innocent people running those sites. It's just a few bad apples afterall.
Everyone knows that the reason such sites generate so much traffic is because everyone is swapping their grandmother's recipes for apple pie and other wholesome stuff that they hold the copyrights to.
Anyone suggesting that by purchasing ad space or making payouts to affiliates that either run or help finance such sites is enabling criminal enterprises, doesn't know the meaning of conspiracy or organized crime.
I'm sure AFF has no knowledge that any copyrighted material is ever illegally posted, or that cp and other illegal content is posted, on big traffic sites where their ads appear, even though to the uninformed it might appear that the higher their traffic and profits from such sites, the harder it seems for AFF to notice it and react quickly to it.
I'm sure AFF would be shocked to learn that their company is in any way associated with companies that are essentially nothing but criminal enterprises, acting under the guise of legal P2P networks on the forefront of supporting freedom and free speech (unlike the fascists who think that simply because they finance and create content, that it shouldn't be free for anyone to share on a web site enabled/underwritten/financed by people whose companies are not the victims of stolen content).
It is the duty of people that finance and create artistic works to give it away free so that companies like AFF can profit from it.
And it doesn't matter how many tens or hundreds of thousands of times illegal content is downloaded, I'm pretty sure AFF will get after it promptly (give or take a few 10-100,000 downloads), because gosh darn it, they take such matters seriously.
If the same content pops up elsewhere on the same site alongside their ads in the next day, week or month afterwards, they will be equally diligent, even if they have to keep doing it over and over again for as long as it takes until people quit pointing it out to them.
To show the crooks a lesson, when they uncover such nefarious practices, they will probably keep all of the bad guy's money themselves and not release it to them. Sure, some may see this as AFF profiting from both sides of illegal activity, but I say that is just being cynical.
Why, AFF even pledges a teeny weenie percentage of their profits to organizations opposed to such activity in exchange for positive press, whether they actually fulfill the pledge or not.
I'm betting that AFF will buy a drink for anyone that thinks otherwise at the next show, because that is the kind of stand-up company they are.
God forbid any of the owners of AFF's own children are ever expolited the way others kids are on sites that their company and affiliates consistently profit from. Maybe then they might view the issues of stolen copyrighted content and illegal content differently.
Have a nice weekend...
